Initiatives of Nepal Government for the release of Bipin Joshi



Kathmandu – Foreign Minister NP Saud has requested Qatar to initiate the release of Bipin Joshi from Kanchanpur, who went missing during the attack on Israel by Hamas.

On Tuesday, Foreign Minister Saud met Qatar’s ambassador to Nepal Mishal Mohammad Al Ansari at the ministry and requested them to take the initiative for Joshi’s release.

Minister Saud requested the Qatari Ambassador Ansari to take all measures for the release of Joshi, who is said to be under the control of Hamas.

In response, Ambassador Ansari informed that the Qatari government is taking steps to stop the renewed war between Israel and the rebel Hamas and said that efforts are also being made to release the abductees including Nepali student Joshi.

The war between Israel and Hamas has started again. The situation is complicated. However, efforts are being made for another ceasefire’, Ambassador Ansari told Foreign Minister Saud, ‘We are also trying to release the prisoners.’

Earlier, on November 24, Minister Saud had asked Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al-Mukhari, to take steps to release Joshi.

Similarly, on November 23, he called Israel’s ambassador Hanan Godar to the ministry and talked about Joshi’s release.

According to his secretariat, Foreign Minister Saud will seriously raise the issue of Joshi’s release in the high-level meeting to be held during the participation in the 21st Doha Forum, which is going to start in Qatar from December 10.

In the meeting held at the Ministry on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Saud and Qatari Ambassador Ansari discussed the Doha Forum visit, high-level meeting in Qatar, etc.

Joshi, among the 17 Nepali students residing at Kibbutz Alumim in southern Israel near the Gaza Strip, was reportedly targeted in an attack by the Islamist group governing the area, as stated by the foreign ministry.
